I Just want to thank Liz from Colonial Assisted living. She's be so kind to my Mom and myself.when I Visit she's always interacting with the residents and has so much patients. Just knowing she's there to help, puts my mind at ease. you hear so many bad stories about these kind of places, I'm so happy a person like Liz is taking care of my Mother!

My mother and aunt both live at Colonial due to health reasons that they need 24 hour care. They've lived there going on 2 years. While no place is 'Perfect', Colonial comes very close. I have to say the staff, nursing director, director, and executive director all try to do their VERY BEST!! They all show genuine love and caring for their residents. If I have any issues for my mom or aunt, i just speak with the staff and they are more than willing to help. Colonial is VERY clean, offer 3 great meals a day, daily activities, and they are always having wonderful celebrations on holidays. I am so VERY THANKFUL to each and everyone at Colonial for taking such GREAT care of my family and making them your family. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

My dad is a veteran with Parkinsons disease and was having serious falling issues so it was time for him to move into an ALF. After looking at several places we came across Colonial which is obviously newly remodeled where most places we saw hadnt been remodeled since the early 80s. The owner Ricki is a total sweetheart. She and the staff seem to genuinely care about their patients which to me is invaluable as I want someone treating my father like their own! The pricing is very reasonable compared to whats out there and again its for a nice new facility. If your loved one can take care of them, small pets are allowed which is wonderful as animals bring love to all. The dining situation seems to be a good one (havent heard my dad complain about the food yet) and if you dont like the meal choices there are everyday menu items you can choose from and snacks twice daily as well. The event calendar seems pretty decent. I plan on staying on top of this and making suggestions as I truly believe its important to provide stimuli for the residents. Prior to Colonial most places we visited had everyone sitting in the lobby looking like zombies. While there will always be a few stragglers in any place you visit this thankfully was NOT the case at Colonial. My father was also having issues keeping up with medication management as he is on 10 different medications. The nurses have made sure hes medicating properly and is safe. Coincidentally as Im writing this review I just got a call from Carol in the office who was following up on a couple of minor issues from yesterday that I brought to their attention while I was visiting. Nothing in this world is perfect and there will always be minor things to tend to. I truly appreciate and respect how attentive the staff is and the manner in which they respond so quickly to concerns / requests. The division to put a loved one in ALF can be difficult and choosing a place for your parent is a serious and stressful decision. Even though there were facilities that were much closer to me and on the water, I chose Colonial for my dad based on all the reasons listed above and Im glad that I did! So far this has been a wonderful experience (for both me and dad) and I really am glad that I know my dad is safe and happy. I highly recommend Colonial and the staff as a safe and happy place for your loved one!
