My buddy has been in Avalon for more than a week with terminal cancer. Though he has a phone in his room, the extension # hasn't worked since day 1. Friday, a week ago I was told that 'maintenance' would check it out Monday, as they weren't available weekends. Extension still not working.AT THIS MOMENT the front desk has put me on hold for 35+ minutes. Reason I called front desk is I gave up waiting (30+ minutes) for the Nursing Station to connect me to my friend.Just now hung up AGAIN and re-dialed for the 3rd time. So far have amassed 65+ minutes on hold. The 'On Hold' music is repetitive but nice. Gustav Holtz.OK. I'm being transferred to his room.Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring, etc. Nothing.I give up.

Awful awful experience with staff. Most people we talked to are very dismissive, rude and unprofessional and no one seems to have the time to make sure my family member is properly taken care of. No hot water and the A.C. was obviously broken
