PruittHealth - Fleming Island

Im in here and cant wait to leave. Beds are awful, one little, uncomfortable chair in the room, irritating TV unless you are right up next to it. The worst is the food: always cold, nothing ive had has been good, and always white rice and white bread, which i would never eat at home AND frozen (seems like microwaved) vegetables. Some staff are nice, some obviously uninterested. I hope they make it, but i wouldnt recommend.

Last weekend we celebrated great grandmother's 95th birthday at Pruitt on Fleming Island - she is there for short term rehab. The facility was very clean and featured wide hallways and generous common room. There was a pleasing blend of natural and artificial lighting that nicely took some of the edge off the inevitable institutional nature of these facilities.Staff was friendly and helpful, and there were none of the bad odors that sometimes permeate assisted living buildings.I run an HVAC business and we are sometimes called to deal with cooling and humidity control problems at assisted living institutions. While I did not fully tour Pruitt Fleming Island as to its HVAC systems during our brief visit, I did note a couple controls dedicated solely to humidity control...that's a good sign of a sound design.One minor annoyance - some kind of alarm system continually beeped and flashed a white light in a nearby hallway. Staff didn't seem concerned, but it went on and on. We were there Sunday, so technician response to work the issue may have been delayed.

Sure it is a 'new' facility. It stops there. The care given is well below average, meanwhile 'promises' that we will take care of the issues go not addressed. Go elsewhere. The State of Florida is getting a call about this facility and their shortcomings......very disappointing to say the leastI would give them a zero or minus 5 stars if I could. Don't walk away from this facility, run as fast as you can

I have been working with the team at Pruitt Health Fleming Island since their opening. I have experienced compassionate staff wanting to make sure their patients have a successful transition back home following rehab in addition to, staff invested in getting to know their long term residents personally to provide the best care.
