My family and I are very pleased with the care our mother receives at Sonata Coconut Creek. They are on top of all the protocols for patients, aides and staff. They have been very proactive in their testing, and have been successful in getting ahead of the virus. The staff is caring and understanding, and I am very comfortable knowing our mother is in a safe environment. We are thankful for them every day!

On June 23, 2019, we were forced to relocate our Aunt to another memory care facility. After an in depth search, we decided to go with Sonata Coconut Creek. We were impressed by the memory care facility itself. You must ring the bell to be allowed into the building. The facility is set up like a large family home! Once inside, there was no typical scent of a public home. There is a large family room where the residents gather for events, watch movies, sing-a-longs, etc. There is an open concept kitchen and dining room. Both a covered and uncovered outdoor porch exists. Surrounded by beautiful landscaping. We wanted our Aunt to have her own room but only a shared room was available at the time. They insisted that we come and see the shared room because it would be quite larger than what we would imagine. The room was enormous! We had no issues. For the most part, the staff was energetic, attentive and knowledgeable about each resident. In particular, I must make mention of the Director of Memory Care, Hillary Newell. Ms. Hillary is an outstanding professional advocate for Dementia patients. She understands this disease. She shares her knowledge with her staff and with the caregivers. I learned so much about this disease and was able to cope with the ever-changing phases because of Ms. Hillary. A week after our Aunts 94th birthday, she passed away. It has been 2 months since she left us and as I reflect on all that transpired prior to Sonata Coconut Creek, I am pretty sure the facility, staff, and namely, Ms. Hillary Newell, allowed us to enjoy one last year with our Aunt. Thank you Sonata Coconut Creek and Ms. Hillary Newell
