We moved our dad in on a Tuesday and after being assured that they could take care of his catheter and medication needs this is what happened. Tuesday evening I received a call from him saying they didn't know how to change his catheter so I drove over there and found him sitting in his chair with pee all over it and himself holding a paper medicine cup with a cotton ball and his foley open and dripping into the cup. And after realizing that they had locked up all his overnight bags in an office i had to drive all the way back home to get extra supplies and drive back to show them how to change out his catheter bag. They couldn't care less about that. I showed up the next morning to take him to his daily outing and no one had even gotten him up and when I mentioned what happened the night before they could have cared less and were rude to me. I went back that afternoon and explained to Matthew Bauer that this wasn't going to be exeptable for my dad. He said he would take care of it. Thursday morning they decided to change his medication schedule and I explained they weren't allowed to do that and not to give him his blood pressure meds that night because he would get it twice in one day.. Guess what they gave it to him anyway! They had to be ask twice to help him into the shower which wasn't supposed to be a problem but it was. And Friday morning he calls me again because the caregiver the night before hooked his foley in the stabilization strap wrong and it banged his supra-pubic foley against his bladder and caused bleeding into his bag and his bladder to be hurt! When i arrived the caregiver had put soap into his night bag which was still in bag and placed tube that attaches to foley on the floor without a cap on it. Bacteria is a real concern with someone with a foley. She then argued with me claiming that I was wrong and that she wasn't certified to even be doing catheter care. We moved him out that day! He was there a total of 4 days and he bled for 2 days because of that. They tried to hide the fact that he got hurt but when the bladder still bleeds for two days afterwards....I would also mention that I have been his caregiver for 8 months I am VERY aware of what is going on with him and his catheter needs. I would also mention that they LOST HIS MEDICATION which i can't get refilled until Monday which they could care less about. I would also mention that they sent home catheters that aren't even his, thank goodness I have some here at home! I would also mention that Stephanie, who is the caregiver who hurt him, expected me to say please and thank you to her after she hurt my Father!

This may not be the fanciest place. However, they have the kindest staff you could ever ask for. They have taken in some people that were in very bad shape and provided them with an incredible quality of life. It's clean, the staff is excellent and they have high standards of care. They do not tolerate bullying or rudeness. It is absolutely refreshing having places like this out there in the world.
