Do you not have your baby at this hospital. I recently had my baby here via C-section. The head of anesthesia was attending my surgery. He explained to me that he would only be using half of the traditional anesthetic, because studies show that the traditional amount is unnecessary. He further explained that the entire hospitals anesthesia department had moved to this protocol. This was my third C-section, so I knew what to expect. It was one of the most horrific medical experiences of my life. I kept telling the surgical team that I could feel too much, but the surgery continued. It felt like an eternity of moaning in pain while the doctors wrenched my body around. My abdominal muscles locked into place, it took the surgeons over 30 minutes to get the baby out, they had to cut my abs, and the baby had to be suctioned and she now has a cephalhematoma. The bruising on my abdomen was significant. It was the most violent C-section I have ever heard of or experienced and this is their new normal. If I can save one single woman from going through the experience that I went through, then this review was worth it. I wish I had been anywhere else and I still have nightmares about being back on that surgical table.

Just want to comment on a previous review by Laura Ray: Your review seems to be meant for Good Samaritan HOSPITAL, but you wrote the review under the Good Samaritan Society Fort Collins Village, which is a senior living and healthcare/rehab facility. Sounds like your experience at that hospital was not a good one; I'm sorry for that. But my mother-in-law went to GSSFCV on hospice and was cared for by their nursing team and staff in an amazing way. She was only there for 2 weeks before she passed, but my wife and I were extremely impressed by the level of care and compassion. After she died, we moved my 94-year-old father-in-law into an Assisted Living apartment in the same building, and his experience has even been better. The daily attention from the caregivers who help him with medications, bathing and reminders is outstanding. It's clear that these women love their residents, and my father-in-law is adjusting to his new environment - despite the major recent upheavals in his life - slowly, but with wonderful support. (PS: The director of the Assisted Living has worked at Good Sam for 34 years -!!- and she has several staff members who have worked with her for 10, 15, and even 20 years! What a team. That has to be very unusual in this field.)

We are absolutely blessed to have found Good Samaritan for our Grandpa!! Every staff member knows every resident and know what is going on in their lives. My grandpa is blessed to be living there. They put on a phenomenal Christmas dinner for the residents and their families with every detail taken care of! Thank you so much for loving Grandpa for us when we arent there.
