Elaine Romero is THE BEST nurse manager EVER!!!! My stepdad has been here for at least 2 weeks and I could not be happier with his care! Elaine has taken excellent care of him, kept me updated frequently and even caught a serious health issue he had and sent him to the hospital! Probably saved his life! I wasn't expecting too much when he first went there, since many rehab places turn out to be only fair. But, Someren Glen has turned out to be wonderful! My stepdad remarks how good they are to him and says the food is good too. Alena, the Social Worker, is very responsive and keeps in touch, always returning phone calls and following through! Tyler is really helping him with the physical therapy part and getting him strong again! They have not tried to push him out with an early discharge, but really care that he is back to health and strong again! Even the woman who answers the phone at the main number is very nice and goes above and beyond to explain about the place and help you find what you need. I don't know all the others' names, but my stepdad says they've given him nice showers and always check on him and help him quickly when he needs something. I chose this place for him and I'm so glad I did. I have been a nurse for 20 years and am in grad school for nurse practitioner. I have a good grasp on what healthcare should be and this place has exceeded expectations! Thank you Elaine Romero, Alena, Tyler and everyone at Someren Glen!

A friend of mine lives there and has plenty of nice things to say about it. I've had meals in their dinning room which were quite good.

The people here really care about you personally. The assisted living area is brand new and very clean. The staff is attentive and loving.

Someren Glen is a very nice looking place and even has a grand piano I can play. They offer awesome drinks of water for the guests, which I really need. I was disappointed that there was no gluten-free food for me to eat, like there was at the hospital. I was extremely disappointed when I could not communicate with my husband. I left a message for him with the receptionist. She did not say when I left the message that it was not her job to deliver it. I believe she gave it to the nurse manager, who dropped the message. The nurse manager later told me I could use a different means of communication, which I have not tried yet, but I was not happy that an important message was lost. I left a message to let my husband know I would be there at 3:30 PM and thought it was delivered. I was so tired from all the stress I could not drive that day, but I took Lyft to get there on time. When I arrived, my husband was asleep and slept for two more hours, during which time I waited around. I felt like my money and efforts to get there on time were wasted. A message was dropped by the staff, who could have been more professional about it.I do not think the staff realizes how much stress and fatigue family members go through. Not being able to communicate multiplies that stress. This problem could be better addressed.I decided to edit this, and increase my rating from one to four stars, because the rehab center provided a way for me to communicate with my husband. However, they still need to take steps to prevent the problem from re-occurring.

The facility was clean , the staff were all very nice and responding to call lights was spot on , the food was better than a nursing home and variety to choose from they need to have gluten free availability not just if they have a gluten free patient . The biggest issue was rehab , some people got rehab , some people never, they spent alot of time on speech rehab when my mother had a broken shoulder ??? After reviewing the notes going home rehab consisted of working with her leg strengthening but not her arm and shoulder which was the ortho doc request . The person in charge of rehab has far too much control over movement of patients and discharge when the nursing staff should allow his opinion but his opinion should not be the rubberstamp of discharge when in fact the work had not been done with my moms shoulder . Gary has far too much power and they pride themselves in fast discharge but fast discharge means nothing when u dont do the work .gary needs a boss , which is head of nursing And needs less power , his presence was well known upon arrival them he drops out stops coming to weekly pt meetings and disappears, reads nothing from doctors as progression of therapy he is allowed to run on his own . Gary need to be managed and not be the manager ! Gary needs to understand its not about running people out the door it's about doing the right thing , doing the prescribed pt per an ortho trauma surgeon , being present in pt meetings with family and actually read the notes from the doctor instead of meeting your discharge goals Gary needs a rein in and discharge needs to not be his decision but nursing decision as well . My disappointment was head of rehab In a rehab facility .and why in a rehab facility did some residence get 0 pt and sent back to skilled facility. Rehab head needs to be rehabbed out
