Sunrise of Boulder

The staff at Sunrise is wonderful. My father feels safe there and has made his Sunrise apartment his new home.

I clean carpets for many retirement communities and get to see and hear the inner workings a lot. As with all retirement places it will have slight kinks in effectiveness daily due to the rapid changing lifestyle needs of its community members. The staff here does the best they can and from a third party perspective it's a very good job. The community members are happy and always out and about. Lots of projects, events, and daily things to do here.

Sunrise of Boulder might seem to be a good place for an outsider, but I have to say that as a former employee, this place does not give the service they preach to give. The root of the problem is the management since they are so punitive oriented that they do not care if their turnover is high. I worked there for over two years, and I saw people leaving their job within two or three months. There were days where a Care Manager had to work with another group of residents because someone called off or did not show. I would say the management has to change as well as their treatment towards Care Managers. This kind of job require someone with an innate care towards others and most people working there gets this job just for a pay check. Overall, this place does not fulfill the needs of its residents and sometimes the way they address hot situations can be murky. In other words do not take your love one to this place.
