I sympathize with Laurens post earlier this year. There is NO LEVEL OF CARE here for those who need assistance with dressing, bathing, eating, or physical company (I cannot comment on other needs or facility offerings). We recently had an extremely unfortunate experience with Saje and were unable to check on our loved one for 6 weeks (due to COVID restrictions) to comprehend the level of neglect he had faced and I will be forever regretful that we were unable to remove him from this terrible place sooner. After removing our loved one from this facility, we hired private care - many of which had previously been employees of Saje and confirmed our fears about neglect among the residents and had quit working there themselves. One home, we discovered his back was covered in bed sores from not being moved, not to mention the amount of pain he was in from being bed ridden. His heart is failing and was in the home for 24/7 care to assist him but turns out the nurses never came to him when he called. We've taken him out of this disgrace of a care home, and now at night in his sleep he screams out 'nurse nurse nurse!!' The private home care nurses we hired tell us they believe it's severe PTSD from being in the home and calling out nurse and no one ever coming to help him.In 6 weeks he lost over 30 lbs, and was told that they were feeding him eggs and bacon (for all meals) only - to a man with a heart condition - ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that they were giving a man with heart failure bacon.IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY, DO NOT EVER SEND THEM HERE. We would never wish this level of neglect upon anyone. Do not waste the thousands of dollars on this despicable place. I cannot even begin to explain the amount of stress and trauma we have been through as repercussions of this.

There is no level of care here. Great place for independent seniors who need help with basic housekeeping and meals. Activities all day and a beautiful facility. However if you need actual care like assistance with dressing, bathing, or eating, you wont find it here. The care ratio is horrible. They say its 6 to 1 but that's not true. My mom was in the memory care wing which easily had 25 people with 2 caregivers who only traveled as a pair! We would press the ALERT button on the wall for over 30 mins and no one would come to help. I have independent outside caregivers who all work for competing facilities in town and they were all appalled at the lack of care and responsibility taken by the staff here. One of our independent caregivers was actually injured lifting my mom alone because no one would come to help her! In my very short time here we met several other families also desperately trying to move out for similar reasons. One woman has actually documented all the bruises on her husband since he fell and was left on the floor without help for over 30 mins. They may act like they have a great program for memory care and will even promise they can help with all the day to day activities but the only time you will see these people is at meal times. The doors to the rooms close and they insist they are locked when not in the room. Meaning there is no visibility if a resident needs help and you cant even here them yelling with the door closed. They easily charge the most in town and you still have to provide your own 24 hour care out of pocket if you want someone to actually be with your loved one. I learned a lot in the last few weeks and can only hope this helps someone avoid the mistake that I made. Do not believe them when they promise you they can care for a loved one with serious needs. Sunrise or Belmont provide much higher levels of care and take personal responsibility for your loved ones safety. If you truly need more help explore board and care facilities. Small 6 bed homes with a 3 to 1 care ratio instead of the standard 6 to 1 you find at the bigger facilities. This place is not assisted living!

I work in the healthcare field myself, and have for several years...especially with Alzheimer's and Memory care issues. I have worked along some of the finest most professional and caring teams you could imagine. I now have a family member who resides at Sage Mountain, and have personally experienced another Amazing effort from all of the staff there at Sage Mountain. You won't find a more compassionate group of people than those who work tirelessly there. If ever you wish to experience an example of Compassion In Action...look no further. Outstanding!
