Sonoma Post Acute

I'm still having difficulty sleeping due to stress induced by your company when the executive director called into question my loyalty when I worked for 5 years on: Noc shift, PM shift, AM shift, floated, took a night differential pay cut, and was always there to give my time to the students as well as my own students I taught in the east bay... Paying me substantially less than the new grads while simultaneously expecting me to train them (also thank you for lying to my face about my measly $2 raise in the performance review that I was never given! Secondly, for attempting to not pay me holiday pay for Thanksgiving/Xmas Eve/New Years day because I briefly changed my status from on call and back to full time because I became a nurse educator. (Luckily the payroll person was on top of things and noticed the 'discrepancy' several months after the new year. I attempted to bring to light the egregious unethical treatment of employees and patients alike but my boss suggested I contact my local congressman. I suffered a meniscal tear due to being over worked, understaffing and unsafe patient ratios that the state of California is aware of but does nothing about. When I phoned the local omsbudsman and demanded to speak to them about the unsafe nursing ratios in geriatric/rehab/Post Acute nursing and they merely stated they are aware of the skilled nursing crisis but their hands are tied 'due to coroporate lobbyists.' 5 months later my knee is still not at full weight bearing yet, (I tore my meniscus because they work the nurses to the point where you can't even take breaks or go to the bathroom because you are wearing 6 hats (charge nurse, phlebotomists picc line blood draw assistant, IV nurse for all other halls, doing the wound care for the lazy wound nurse who refuses to do her job because they got her doing the Director of nursing's job.) The administrators have their head so far up their hind quarters it's a wonder they don't have C. Dif. I don't foresee me returning to Sonoma Post Acute in the near future. I forgive your company for its abhorrent business practices but I can't find it in my heart to forgive the people there who pretended to care about me but did nothing to help me... Actually now that I think about it that's par for the course around there I'm glad to be free of that racist workplace where Latinos make substantially less than Asians and Caucasians... Shame on you for taking advantage of hard working nurses trying to make a difference in people's lives just remember you reap what you sow.
