This is definitely an older building and facility, but the residents receive great care here. The staff are consistent and take the time to get to know what the residents like and prefer --to the point where they have all memorized what each of them likes for breakfast! The place is always clean and beds made by late morning. They have plenty of activities for them, including crafts, flower arrangement, music, tv, news, exercise, walks through the garden, etc.

I do believe that this is a very beautiful location and the nursing staff are very sweet young women who are new in their professing and lack good judgement and follow through. The last day I saw my Dad in their care I was very disappointed and very sad. I walked into his room and found him slumped over on his chair. His legs were not elevated as requested. He as without water, without his call button which was tied to the head of his bed and completely out of reach if he needed to call for help! The window was closed and the room was very warm and lacked veneration! The recorder he listen to, because he was blind, was so loud that even if he called for help and assistance he would have not been heard and his door was completely shut! When I fount a nursing assistance to share my concerns she said I just got here and its not my fault! This was completely unprofessional! I was pointing out the circumstance and the the trying to point the finger at a individual...I just wanted to share my concerns and get them corrected and make sure that it was addressed so it did not happen again! The lack of responsibility ...was very disappointing! They got him situated and took him to dinner. He was so tired and exhausted he did not eat. He was very weak and dehydrated. The nursing aids used a hydraulic lift to put him back I. His chair in his room and it was very painful because it pulls him up under his arms. It was sad to see him in pain. This facility does not employ Men such as nursing assistance to help lift those who need assistance...so they must use this machine. The next day my Dad was found sitting in his chair with a fan blowing directly on him and only a tee shirt. He had pneumonia the previous month and this was very careless if the nursing staff! My Dad was taken to the hospital that day and passed away 2 Days later. It saddens me that in his last few days at this Care center he was so neglected and not cared for with the same attention he had received when he first came here. The attitude of its not my fault was so very immature and lacked responsibility to take the proper action and to take note and make sure if does not happen again to my Dad or any other resident. It was very surprising and very disappointing. I am very sad that this was the lack of care my Dad received in his final days! He was so wonderful, so kind to the staff and so generous. He deserved so much more!
