Sierra Pointe

The facilities are clean and the care seems good. HOWEVER, beware of moving in or sending your loved ones here as there has been a spate of burglaries and the management is doing very little about them. The last time this happened, the previous management called the police and the culprit was caught, but not so much this time. Our elderly (late 90's) relative has had items stolen 3 times (and yes her mind is VERY clear), but no police have turned up. It is incredibly distressing for her and now it seems that the family is going to have to take things into their own hands to make her safe. Not good at all. I would never send anyone here to live any more!

My mom moved in the Fall of 2016. The staff really is kind and pleasant. The staff is also long-tenured. Every time I've visited I've noticed how often the staff engages the residents by name and engages in conversations. They don't seem hurried in their interactions with residents. That says a lot about the leadership at Sierra Pointe. As a visitor, they don't make me feel like I'm intruding. They make me feel welcome. My mom's happy with the food. She enjoys the quality of the property and they do a nice job with the garden and patio areas (on which my mom's apartment overlooks). Move-in was not burdensome; they were very flexible with us. She hasn't needed much in the way of assistance services. So, it's tough to comment there. Aside from the challenge of moving out of her home of 20-years, she was very glad she chose to move to Sierra Pointe after having visited about 8-10 different properties.

What is it? It is a retirement home nestled near the foothills of the Sierra Mountains in Roseville, at 5161 Foothills Boulevard where seniors who want independent or assisted living, can enjoy their days in a gorgeous setting. It is in the center of beautiful trees, shrubs, flowers, paths, a lovely patio with comfortable chairs, table, umbrellas and a barbeque area.The magnificent Sierra Pointe facility is the home of happy, friendly and content people who are sharing their lives with one another and experiencing the care and attention and a multitude of activities which they enjoy as they desire.My welcome, As I entered Sierra Pointe and walked to the desk, was three women walking down the hall who looked over at me, smiled and gave a little wave. I was emotionally astounded at their kindness and can truthfully say that it was my first thought that this is where I wanted to live, with these gracious people as my future friends.The entrance to Sierra Pointe shows a beautiful living room, with comfortable chairs, sofas, plants and a lovely warm color with huge windows which look out onto the patio. The huge dining room, with attractive tables for four, the great room, with it's Wii and TV, has parties, meetings and lectures, and morning exercises. Also, there is a huge library and a private computer room for those who live here and their families and a beauty salon that services hair and nails. The exercise room is big, with many machines, the private dining room and arts and crafts room are amazing. All interior decoration includes lovely paintings, flowers and muted colors.The private apartments consist of many sizes and floor plans, a patio if desired, kitchen facilities and storage room galore. Housekeeping is provided and maintenance men are always available to make everyone's home convenient and comfortable.What you have read is basically the physical beauty and all the facilities that are available to everyone. What is to be discovered next is...'The Frosting on the Cake'.THE STAFF!If assisted living is needed, the caregivers diligently locate each resident who would like assistance to dinner, an entertainment event, or anywhere they would like to go: outside to the patio, the poker or bingo game, etc. Each resident that needs medication management, the caregiver locates them personally and assures medication is taken. Also, meals which are always fresh, homemade, and arranged beautifully on a tray, may be delivered to your apartment.Professional musical entertainment, special talks, daily activities and the menus for the All Day Dining are always put into your personal mailbox every two weeks for residents information.The Servers and Kitchen staff are extraordinary. Their meals are delicious, yet if you prefer you can order off the Alternate menu. Pleasing the residents is their goal and they succeed graciously and know everyone by name, which is an amazing talent they have, They are angels, with invisible wings you can't see because they hurry so fast from the kitchen to your table. The transportation department is a constant aid for shoppers, church goers, medical appointments, etc. Shopping Centers are listed, times and sign up lists are always available.Many times I have heard the expression, 'It was just Heaven' but now I know what that really means. It means living at Sierra Pointe in Roseville, with new friends who soon become an extended family. Do come to visit us and see our lovely home for Independent, Assisted and Happy Living.

My parents lived at Sierra Pointe for several years as independent and assisted living residents. The loving, caring environment of Sierra Pointe is in my opinion unsurpassed. My family had the highest of confidence in all levels of staff and management; they were friendly, considerate and professional at all times, and we came to consider them our friends. Sierra Pointe staff and management were exceedingly responsive to the special care my parents eventually required and, despite their busy schedules, always made it a point to stop by, or greet my parents as well as family members, and make sure all was well.
