Villa Gardens Los Angeles Continuing Care Retirement Community

Don't know about the review from Lisa S., but I know Villa Gardens to be the premier senior living community in the Pasadena area. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I know firsthand that many of the residents consider the staff to be an extension of their own families. Plus, isn't there always a waiting list to live there? That says it all!

My mother lived at Villa Gardens from 2010 - 2018. Both she and the rest of our family considered her incredibly lucky to have been able to live here for the last years of her life. During most of those years, she lived in independent living in her own apartment. As she encountered health issues with aging and was periodically hospitalized, she would always come back, spend time in the nursing center (which is part of the same complex) and then be transitioned back to her apartment with attention and care. Villa Gardens is a pioneer in continuing care - they have many innovative programs; from things like bringing in young adults to be mentored by residents, to visiting musical performances, artists and writers, as well as a well stocked and current in-house library, cafe, swimming pool, and fitness facilities create a really rich and fulfilling and healthy community.During the final weeks of her life, while she was in hospice, she was able to be in her apartment with round the clock attention from the onsite caregiver staff. Everyone worked above and beyond to help her be as comfortable as possible and ultimately were with her when she passed. My wife, children and I had eight deeply fulfilling years with my mother at VG. Swimming in the pool in summer, having a special catered 90th birthday party in the dining room, and becoming close friends with many of the other residents. My mother was active in the Villa Gardens community - a member of the residents' board, the librarian and editor of the monthly newsletter. Her life was rich, safe and healthy - both mentally and physically. Our family was blessed to have this resource in our lives. Special thanks go to the staff - Dmitry, Sara, Ruzanna, Silvia, Jon, Karina, Ricardo, Irma, Kathy, Carme, Juana, Kohar and many others. They always listened to both my mother and I, and were as caring, thoughtful and skilled as any team working in a CCRC could be.My expectation is that by the time I am ready to live in a CCRC that nothing will exist that is on par with what Villa Gardens is in 2018. So, yeah, Villa Gardens is the best.

Villa Gardens is a phenomenal senior retirement community. The residents are the most kind and loving people you will ever meet. To learn about their journey in route to Villa Gardens is amazing. Every employee has a pleasant and caring attitude that is contagious. The resort like community is very well maintained and its not hard to see why people want to stay here.

This place is OVER PRICED ROBBING SENIORS OF THEIR MONEY. AND FORGET ABOUT THE EMPLOYEES... A LOT OF DISCRIMINATION AND HOSTILITY. A LOT OF FAKE PEOPLE .
