Recently my 78-year-old mother was recovering at Mercy after knee surgery. I visited her several times and found her happy and well taken care of. She enjoyed the food, often getting more than she expected, had great response from the help, and was handled excellently by the rehab group. She personally was happy with how they pushed her to a healthier recovery.I was pleased by the staff and the director and her team who went out of their way to make sure she was happy and comfortable. They truly have listening ears and caring hearts at Mercy!

My mother passed away over a year ago. She spent her last four months at Mercy. I live in another state and was just in California for a visit. Of course, going there always makes me think of my mom, and I was thinking about Mercy and the wonderful care she received and thought I'd leave a review. For me being an out-of-state resident, it was so important to me to make sure my mom was well taken care of. I visited often during her last four months, as we knew she didn't have long. My mom was treated with the utmost respect and compassion from everyone, whether it was from Tamra, the director, and her direct staff; the nurses; or the maintenance crew. They all were just amazing with her (and us as her family). They always welcomed me and answered all my questions. They were full of kindness and compassion. I feel very blessed that she was in such a great environment until the very end. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Mercy Care Center would be fine for Retirement, NOT GOOD for Assisted or Skilled Nursing level care. They have fine chef, fine restaurant type dining room...but IN ROOM care is terrible. My brother was there 6 months... in Skilled and Assisted living..finally in bed 24/7 for final 2 month. He was NOT kept clean, waited HOURS after pushing button to summon help....weeks to be bathed....over 6 weeks to have his hair shampooed... There clearly is the Pretense of Mercy being a Catholic facility, as it once was, but my brother could not even get Communion brought to him after Sunday Mass in Mercy's auditorium. I lived far away, so could only call and COMPLAIN and ask for better care...but such was not given. My advice : Stay away if you are not mobile or move your relative out of there if he/she requires more help . The Administrator should be replaced by someone who understands her job better . The Billing Dept. has NO Problem with their job....our cost per month rising to over $8300 (for services listed that were not delivered.) I protested and had this huge bill reduced after refusing to pay it. Thank goodness a kind Hospice Nurse finally arrived 3 weeks before he died.. bathing him 3 times a week in bed, washing his hair and keeping him clean and comfortable. Bless Her.
