Aegis Living Moraga

We moved my father-in-law into Aegis in October of 2018. It was a sudden and unsettling move for him and the staff at Aegis could not have been more helpful with all of the adjustments needed. As others have mentioned, moving into assisted living/memory care can be a very difficult decision/transition for both the patient and the family and it is not a 'one size fits all' solution. My father-in-law's care plan took a great deal of 'tweaking' until things were stable (for now!) and the entire staff at Aegis, from the housekeeping, aides, food service, maintenance, front desk, activities, nurses, management, etc..., have all been incredibly helpful and accommodating to his situation. When we realized that he needed more one on one care, Aegis was very helpful in recommending agencies that could provide private aides to come in and assist. The combination has been very successful. The staff @ Aegis all address him by name and he loves taking part in the social activities, especially anything involving exercise, music and dancing!Taking care of someone with severe dementia is no easy task and we are so grateful that this facility is right down the street, making it so convenient to visit often and to give us peace of mind on the days that we cannot be there. Clear communication and patience have been key factors in our experience and management has always been willing to sit down with us to discuss any of our concerns. My father in law feels very safe, comfortable and cared for and that's the best we can ask for at this point.
