Hello friends. First of all, I seldom write reviews and the only time I do so is when Im completely elated and pleasantly surprised by the experience. After my recent experience at Brookdale Camarillo (skilled nursing/rehab), I felt compelled to write this one... My dad needed a facility and I was only given a day to find one. I was definitely surprised by the short notice of the discharge from the hospital, but off I went on the search, visiting five SNFs the following day. After seeing four, Brookdale was my last stop as I was tipped off that this was among the best in the area. Unable to schedule an appointment, I walked in unannounced and was given a tour by Caitlan, the Admissions Coordinator. Brookdale was a breath of fresh air and unlike anything I had previously seen that day. Lester, ultimately, became part of the admission process as well and both were an absolute pleasure to work with... I heard the building was originally built to be a Courtyard by Marriott... nice interior, exterior, lobby, courtyard and palm trees. My dad was there off-and-on for approximately six weeks. The entire staff was great and became like extended family as I visited my dad every single day while I was in town. It can be a pretty surreal environment if youre not use to it, but I always felt like family and was welcomed with open arms at all hours of the day. ALL of the nurses and CNAs were absolutely terrific! Elvira, Kera, Amber, Alayna, Amanda, Jose and everyone else. Not once did any of the nurses lose their patience... not once. PT was great, OT was great. My dad looked forward to seeing Kiersten and Jackie every single day of his stay. A true highlight. My main contact at the facility was Misi (Director) and I really cant say enough great things about him... knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and always accessible for any concerns. Just a stellar, stand-up, individual. As for the food, its pretty good as long as youre on the dining room side and not part of the pureed food club in the activities room. Where else can you play bingo, watch football games on the big screen and guess which portion of the mystery meal is meat? Thats pot roast? Really? And what you thought might be mashed potatoes is actually pureed bread. Think Fear Factor. Ghastly doesnt even begin to describe it. The surround-sound comments from the residents/patients were absolutely classic. Brookdale was an unexpectedly nice experience. When I drove away for the last time, I felt like I was leaving friends. My dad, who recently passed away, was treated really well here and you should feel confident with Brookdale Camarillo as your choice. There were some sad days, but they somehow made them a little bit better. My highest recommendation. Well done and thank you. Keep up the great and meaningful work.

Great facility, one stop shop, everything a senior could ever need as aging progresses. Friendly staff. A+

Thank youMy mom has been in Brookdale twice , 2016 and 2017.Both times were for physical rehab after a hospital stay. On both occasions mom was pretty depressed about how quickly she has lost certain motor skills and then on both occasions along came a physical therapist who Mom referred to her as a special angel. Her rehab skills are unquestionable. She developed such a great bond with mom that Mom actually looked forward to rehab at Brookdale when she was released from the hospital. The physical therapist gave mom a reason to keep on keeping on. She provides physical as well as emotional therapy to her patients. Mom will be 90 this year and always speaks well of her 'special angel.' Thank you for the privilege of allowing our family to continue to enjoy mom and making it possible for mom to continue to enjoy life.A grateful son

My mom spent over five (5) months hospitalized. Visiting over 20 different SNF's, I became extremely disappointed at the options available until I came across Brookdale Camarillo. From my very first visit I knew this was the place where my mom needed to be for her recovery. She has been at Brookdale Camarillo 30 days today and I can honestly say my intuition was spot on. In fact, these folks have exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness and beauty of the facility speaks for itself. It is the professionalism and friendliness of the staff that is most impressive. The Executive Director knows how to run a facility and it shows in every department. My mom's primary needs were Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapies. These are special people who are not only great at what they do for a living, they have compassion for their patients, all while executing the roadmap for recovery. The same goes for the Nursing staff. Bottomline, this facility has hired qualified professionals who obviously like their jobs and are happy were they work.I am grateful I found Brookdale Camarillo and that they accepted my mom with open arms and a solid plan for her recovery!! Thank you all.
