Not very nice

Three years ago my mother, Barbara Burns, was hesitant to move to any assisted living facility. After visits to many of the options in the Camarillo area, we decided on a trial stay for a month at Atria Las Posas. After one week there Mom decided to stay in her room. Day by day she has grown to love it there as much as she did her big house on the hill. What she really loves are the people at Atria. Residents, Housekeeping, Red Shirt Caregivers, Kitchen and Dinning, Transportation, everyone is so loving. My family and I are her only direct relative and we all live halfway across the country and depend on Atria the keep us informed. We stay in touch with Mom by phone, but are so very grateful for the careful attention that everyone at Atria gives to my mother. My whole family was recently able to coordinate schedules so that we could all be together with 'Gammy' at Atria Las Posas. Jean at the front desk helped set up a lunch and Carlo in Dinning Services gave us special attention. It is clear to me that Jane Germaine has added another level of loving care to the community. A part of her responsibility as Senior Engage Life Director, Colleen McCutchan has arranged an exercise program that accommodates the residents. When she becomes aware of an individual's special needs, she incorporates those needs into her program. Many of the games encourage hand-eye coordination (bean bags and boccia ball) as well as strength exercises (weights). She makes arrangements for speakers, live music presentations, weekend outings, book clubs, and board games. She also arranges for ambassadors within the community to help with the transition of new residence. These are just a few of the things she does in her position.

I love Atria Las Posas. The entire staff is so caring and loving, and there are so many great, well rounded activities. It is like a huge family, and everyone is always having a lot of fun. It is a great place!
