Food has dropped in quality. They focus on trying to serve fancy food.

Not good! My grandmother lives here, and looks are deceiving. On the outside, it looks SO GREAT! But the honeymoon is now over (once moved in). They promote Chef cooked meals, activities, etc... but they have outdated activities calendars, room confinement and the food is something else. I remember coming to visit the place, and we caught a guy on the elevator early morning... and I said in a rush to get to get a good meal? He laughed and said 'good meal outside of here'. Of course we had no idea of how it actually was at that time! The Covid 19 virus has no doubt been a battle everywhere, but all the restrictions this place has is beyond me. Told my grandmother she can't go to Walmart or will have to be quarantined in her room! Do you tell your employees they can't go to Walmart on their off time? I doubt it, and if you do- I guarantee they still go... does that mean they can't come to work? The quarantine thing is really no big deal, considering she spends all her time in her room anyways! Last I knew, this was assisted living, not a nursing home or a controlled operation. I understand you have precautions to protect other people, but you also have an employee that doesn't even know how to work a thermometer... go figure... especially considering Tom makes up things as they go anyways! What a joke! Like I said, this place has potential but they get you in and contracted and then shove you aside! Another worthless 'establishment' that lies to you and says whatever to get you in. You should at least consider giving people a discount since there are no activities, cheap food (that is wasted) and keeping them under lock and key! I do no recommend... but I do recommend humble, friendly staff that aren't fake and also a person that can work a thermometer!You walk in to this place, and not only is the staff unfriendly, condescending, and everything else you can imagine. They roll eyes when you ask a question. They lie about straight to your face. There is a guy that works here (Tom)- he is the one that gets people in the facility- but he is a pathological liar. He speaks for the lady that runs the place (Lori-Dawn) and Lori-Dawn says that he is a liar and cant believe anything he says, yet hes still employed here? HAHA. What a joke. My grandmother says the food is awful. She never ate any of it, and always wrote a note right on the box... and they promote chefs they have that fix it!!! Wonder what kind of chefs? Must be bottom of the litter. WOW- what a place. My grandmother was only here 3 months... and even that was too long. If you want bad customer service, be locked in your room with no ways out (and yes, its supposed to be assisted living), horrible food and liars... Then look no further- you found your destination. OH- and they illegally go through the US Postal Mail, taking no telling what before they give it to you!!! The place has individual post boxes for each resident, but they trample through it first... which is totally illegal. At the end of COVID-19 and just a few days before she left here after a horrible experience... they invited her back to the dining room to eat, and put her at her own table with nobody else and had it in boxes. Nothing personal about it. The administration has NO CLUE...nor do THEY CARE! Stay Away. Use Hopes Creek in Van Buren or some other place... My grandmother now lives alone again... as this place was quite the experience!

Clean, well run organization, people were helpful.
