Twice my mother's outside doctor's explicit orders for prescription changes were handed to the nurses in skilled care and both times they were not implemented. I feel like if my sister and I hadn't been constantly asking questions, trying to get blood results, trying to talk to the nurses, and overseeing her care, she would not have received the treatments and medications she was ordered. and even with all that both times that are prescriptions were changed by her physicians it went weeks before we found out they weren't implemented..
