I love South Hampton NRC! As a nurse, I know that every facility has its quirks & issues. None are perfect. However, my mother has been at the facility for almost three years now. It doesnt smell, its not dirty and I love their attentiveness at keeping me informed concerning her. The staff - nurses, direct care givers, receptionist, activities, dietary, social services and the administrative staff are always there to address questions and concerns. And, they rectify concerns quickly. The nursing staff is stable. All facilities usually have direct care issues. I trained CNAs for 3 years. And, it takes a special individual who wants to provide care to others. My motto in class was, treat the residents how you or your loved one should be treated. If you are just in it for the job or money, you wont stay.Thank you South Hampton for being there!

Just got Mom out of the new Rehab at the Cove. Pros: its brand new and very clean. No nasty smells in this placeCons: maybe they are working out the kinks but staff seems disorganized PT was lack luster. Maybe they are just used to lower functioning patients but they did little more than walk her and do a few very basic exercises OT was fairly lackluster. Mom could already do most of what they wanted. Boredom was a serious issueFood: seriously bad. Always cold and soggy. Sometimes unidentifiable. Ended up bringing Mom food every day so I knew she got at least one decent meal a dayNursing: some very sweet nurses made up for a lot of the other issues. They need more support. Discharge planning was weak. We were sent out prior to a holiday with a couple of days of meds and a list. No real instructions.....

My wife was lovingly cared for at South Hampton for several months. She suffered from Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer's. I could not have asked for better care and attention.

I can not begin to put into words what South Hampton has meant to me. My mother has been in some type of facility for the past several years, so I have a lot of experience at my disposal when rating a health care center. I have seen my mother neglected, in pain, and dirty at other places along the way, but NEVER at South Hampton. Their front line workers ( rns, cnas, etc...) have the necessary loving and caring attitude to handle someone who simply cant do things for themselves. From the Administrator on, they have all been very helpful to me along the way. I am able to sleep at night because of South Hampton. Also, my father has been there for short stays and rehab, and he too has been treated very, very well. I just feel so fortunate to have found this place and wanted to share with anyone who may be looking for a place to help them with the people they love.
